General Accountant

Job Summary

Selva Trading is seeking a dependable and detail-focused General Accountant to handle day-to-day accounting work with accuracy and efficiency. The right candidate should bring at least 3 years of relevant experience, along with strong analytical ability and a careful approach to financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Keep financial transactions recorded correctly and up to date.
• Produce financial statements and reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Match bank statements against company records and resolve differences.
• Handle both payables and receivables.
• Create journal entries and complete general ledger reconciliations.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis work.
• Make sure accounting work follows standards, company rules, and applicable local laws.
• Assist internal and external audit activities by preparing supporting documents.
• Manage payroll processing and staff expense reimbursements whenever needed.
• Track cash movement and maintain complete and accurate books of account.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or another closely related discipline is required.
• At least 3 years of experience working as a General Accountant or in a similar accounting role.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel capability, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis, and reporting.
• Experience with accounting or ERP platforms such as QuickBooks, Odoo, SAP, Oracle, Zoho Books, Tally, or comparable systems is strongly preferred.
• Solid grasp of accounting principles and financial reporting practices.
• Strong accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
• Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and deliver within deadlines.
• Strong English communication skills; Arabic would be an added advantage.
• Experience with ERP systems is preferred.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent qualifications are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional accounting certifications and prior ERP experience are considered beneficial for this role.
