About the Role and Organization
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) Tech team is recruiting a Fundraising Analyst to bolster fundraising initiatives aimed at aiding Democratic victories and empowering progressive causes nationwide. Operating fully remotely with team members across 19 states, the DNC values diverse perspectives and is dedicated to building lasting technology infrastructure that supports campaigns continuously.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct strategic analyses to identify trends in engagement, strengths, and growth areas, transforming these into actionable steps to refine fundraising focus.
- Oversee finance data integration from multiple platforms, establishing standardized data structures to facilitate consistent reporting and analysis.
- Execute and verify fundraising models developed by the Data Science team to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
Additional Duties
- Design and lead experiments such as A/B tests on digital and direct mail campaigns to optimize fundraising outcomes.
- Create and maintain automated reporting systems that provide critical insights into program performance and work collaboratively with engineering to enhance data products streamlining these reports.
- Innovate automation tools alongside Tech Team partners to simplify repetitive tasks including targeting and list management between various tools.
- Manage ad hoc data requests promptly while maintaining data precision and quality.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Proficiency in writing clean, maintainable SQL and building reusable data pipelines.
- Experience with large, complex, and initially unstructured datasets.
- A collaborative mindset favoring partnership-driven development of data products.
- Familiarity with tools such as dbt, Airflow, Dagster, Databricks, AWS Glue, or Dataform for production workflow management.
- Comfortable using Google Cloud Platform services, particularly BigQuery and Google Cloud Storage.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Adaptability to a fast-changing work environment with shifting priorities.
- Experience on political campaigns or working with political data is highly valued.
Additional Preferred Skills
- Background working with political datasets like state voter files, election outcomes, or engagement data for voters, volunteers, or donors.
- Familiarity with voter database and outreach software such as VAN/Votebuilder, Scale to Win, or Reach.
- Understanding of the appropriate application of predictive modeling techniques, including Turnout and Support scoring.
Salary and Benefits
The annual salary for this position is $84,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. As a full-time, exempt remote position based in the United States, it may occasionally require weekend work. The DNC offers a comprehensive benefits package including:
