Full Time Package Driver

About the Role

Join a Fortune Global 500 company as a UPS Package Driver responsible for delivering and collecting packages from residential and commercial addresses. This hands-on job involves driving and performing physical tasks such as lifting, lowering, and carrying packages in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Drivers must uphold safe transportation practices and provide top-notch customer service through reliable and efficient delivery methods.

Working Conditions

• Full-time position based in Chatham, Ontario, at 566 Riverview Drive, N7M 5J5
• Typical workweek is Monday through Friday
• Shift hours run from 9:00 AM to 5:15 PM, with necessary flexibility in start and finish times

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Efficiently deliver and pick up UPS packages
• Learn and implement UPS safe driving and defensive driving techniques
• Support truck loading and unloading as needed
• Maintain accurate records of package deliveries
• Adhere to UPS appearance standards, wearing company-provided vest and uniform

Candidate Requirements

• Capable of lifting packages up to 70 lbs independently; most packages weigh between 25 to 35 lbs
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient with navigation tools including maps, GPS, and map books
• Available to work Tuesday through Saturday and some Mondays
• Valid Ontario G class driver's license is required
• Clean driving record: no at-fault accidents for 3 years, maximum of 2 violations in the last 3 years, no traffic violations in the past 12 months, and fewer than 5 Demerit Points over 3 years
• Strong customer service aptitude

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting hourly wage: $20.00
• Union collective agreement wage progression to $37.29 per hour after 48 months of service
