About the Role

We are engaged exclusively by a leading multi-site company headquartered in Cork to find a proactive and experienced Financial Controller. This pivotal permanent position operates within a flexible hybrid work environment and entails leading a central finance team of six members. The role involves comprehensive responsibility for operational financial controls, corporate governance, and commercial reporting across sites located in Ireland and the UK. Reporting to the Finance Director, the Controller will play a vital commercial advisory role to senior management, combining rigorous financial accounting expertise with strategic margin analysis and treasury oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a six-member internal finance team, nurturing a culture focused on high performance and meeting deadlines.
  • Manage the complete month-end close processes including generation of monthly accounts, statutory group reporting packages, and balance sheet lead schedules.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process along with ongoing commercial margin reviews and forecasting to ensure profitability across diverse business segments.
  • Oversee working capital management, cash flow forecasting, the establishment of credit insurance schemes, and banking transactions.
  • Manage corporate foreign exchange exposures by handling rolling and swapping contracts.
  • Take charge of internal and external audits, prepare statutory corporate tax submissions, and ensure local VAT compliance while maintaining strong internal controls.
  • Serve as the main site contact for Group corporate matters involving Finance, IT, and HR; collaborate with Group IT on site-specific system management and electronic data interchange (EDI) integration.

Candidate Profile
