About the Role
Become a vital member of Downer's Telco New Zealand group as a Finance Business Partner. This position involves managing financial activities for major telecommunications contracts across New Zealand. Coupling strategic financial advice with close collaboration with operational and commercial teams, this role supports business growth and decision-making in a highly visible capacity. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and management of annual budgets, forecasts, and business plans for the Telco NZ portfolio.
- Generate precise financial reports and performance analyses to aid operational decision-making.
- Create and update project financial models to pinpoint risks, opportunities, and areas for enhancement.
- Collaborate with operational, engineering, commercial, and finance departments to influence performance and commercial success.
- Contribute to significant project bids by developing pricing strategies and financial models.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Finance Business Partnering, Commercial Finance, FP&A, Project Accounting, or Management Accounting roles.
- Professional certification as CA or CPA and a tertiary degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
- Substantial expertise in sectors such as infrastructure, telecommunications, utilities, construction, or contract-based services.
- Demonstrated ability to craft budgets, forecasts, financial models, and reporting frameworks with influence over stakeholders.
- In-depth understanding of technical accounting including IFRS standards and familiarity with financial systems like OneStream and JDEGS.
