Field Trips Coordinator

About the Role

This position represents an opportunity to volunteer as a Field Trips Coordinator supporting efforts to broaden access to STEM education for underrepresented middle school students across the United States. The role centers around developing and managing educational excursions that immerse students in authentic science, technology, engineering, and mathematics environments. You will be responsible for facilitating connections between students and engaging STEM settings via partnerships with schools, educational staff, and external STEM institutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate and pinpoint appropriate venues such as companies, museums, and STEM organizations for field visits.
• Initiate and maintain communication with potential partner organizations to determine availability and logistical details for these excursions.
• Work closely with curriculum teams to ensure the field trips align with academic objectives and students' educational requirements.
• Draft and disseminate relevant communications to educators and school leaders regarding trip plans, prerequisites, and necessary documentation.
• Assist with administrative tasks including obtaining permissions, managing required paperwork, and organizing materials.
• Request quotes and collect pertinent information from external venues to support budgeting and planning.
• Engage actively in team meetings and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance field trip offerings.
• Manage email correspondences and support continuous communication efforts.

• Interest in STEM education, youth development, or promoting equitable access to learning opportunities is advantageous.
• Experience in event planning, education, partnership development, administrative roles, or community engagement is preferred.
