Field Engineer - OSP Fiber Network

Overview

We are looking for a Field Engineer to oversee the execution and management of Outside Plant (OSP) Fiber Network projects specifically for MAN and NLD networks. This is a contract role based in Mumbai with a duration of 12 months.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and execute OSP Fiber Network deployments according to defined project specifications for Metropolitan Area Networks (MAN) and National Long Distance (NLD) networks.
• Carry out detailed site surveys and feasibility studies to prepare accurate scope of work documents and Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
• Liaise with government agencies to secure Right of Way (ROW) permits essential for constructing OSP network infrastructure.
• Engage regularly with OSP vendors to monitor quality standards and ensure timely completion of network installation milestones.
• Collaborate with the West Circle team to compile data related to Security Deposits (SD), Bank Guarantees (BG), Project Right of Way (PROW), Compliance, Feasibility, and Purchase Order-specific billing, updating records on daily bases via SharePoint.
• Establish and maintain seamless communication channels with both internal teams and external partners involved in the project.
• Prepare and hand over required documentation to the Fiber Optics (FO) team upon project completion.
• Execute comprehensive Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) testing using OTDR, Laser Source, and Power Meter tools for fault detection and resolution.

Qualifications and Eligibility

• Candidates should have relevant experience in planning, executing, and testing OSP Fiber Network projects and coordinating with vendors.
• Minimum educational qualification required is Diploma, ITI, Bachelor’s degree in Technology (B.Tech), or Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.).

Contract Details & Compensation

• Role Type: 12-month contractual engagement.
• Salary: Annual compensation of ₹3.3 lakhs.
