Job description

Position Overview

South Lanarkshire Council is seeking a skilled Joiner to join their Hamilton Business Unit on a permanent, part-time basis (37 hours per week). The role focuses on supporting various building services work programmes, including refurbishment and maintenance tasks. The salary range for this position is £39,856 to £40,995 annually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all joinery-related duties associated with building maintenance and refurbishment projects.
  • Manage and adapt to diverse workload requirements efficiently and effectively.

Candidate Requirements

  • Trade-qualified with SVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds certification in joinery.
  • Proven hands-on technical ability delivering high-quality workmanship across all joinery tasks.
  • Experience in both commercial and domestic construction environments.
  • Knowledge and experience of joinery works related to public buildings and schools is favorable.
  • Strong commitment to customer service principles, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet targets and work within predetermined deadlines.
  • Awareness and adherence to workplace health and safety regulations.
