Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Event Photographer to take ownership of coverage for Jamaica's prominent events. This is a salaried contract position requiring you to shoot multiple events per month and represent 876 Events as the face of the brand in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Photograph at least 8 diverse events monthly across Jamaica including parties, concerts, festivals, and corporate gatherings.
• Provide full photographic coverage for all events assigned by 876 Events, fulfilling contractual obligations when organizers secure coverage.
• Produce and deliver galleries of a minimum of 150 edited, high-quality images per event within 72 hours post-event.
• Upload, caption, and carefully curate galleries on the 876 Events platform.
• Engage promoters and event organizers to secure new bookings for the 876 Events coverage service.
• Distribute informational cards to event attendees to promote photo access via 876 Events.
• Collaborate with the internal team on scheduling, prioritizing coverage, and determining which events require photographic attention.

Candidate Requirements

• Prior proven experience as an event photographer, supported by a portfolio or social media presence for review.
• Skillful in navigating challenging low-light conditions and crowded environments prevalent in event settings.
• Confident and sociable, comfortable initiating conversations with promoters, organizers, and patrons alike.
• Efficient and consistent editing speed to ensure timely gallery publication.
• Highly dependable, understanding that attendance at assigned events is a contractual commitment.
• Ownership of professional photography equipment including camera body, fast low-light lenses, external flash, ample memory cards, and preferably a backup camera. Also requires access to a computer capable of handling large-scale editing and a reliable internet connection. Note: Equipment is not provided, so applicants without their own will not be considered.
• Candidates must reside in Jamaica with dependable transportation accessible for island-wide events.
• Availability during nights and weekends when most events occur.
• Existing networking within Jamaica's event industry is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

• A fixed monthly salary of JMD 100,000, independent of event volume fluctuations.
• Opportunity to earn additional performance rewards through the 876 Events Photographer Program as bonuses, which do not affect the base salary.
