Job Overview

We are looking to hire a seasoned and dedicated Environment Engineer to oversee environmental management aspects for a road construction project located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Civil Engineering, or similar field.
• At least 7 years of hands-on experience in environmental management concerning large-scale infrastructure, highways, transportation, or construction projects.
• In-depth understanding of environmental laws, compliance standards, and environmental management systems.
• Proficiency in overseeing environmental monitoring, waste management, pollution control, and sustainable practices.
• Knowledge and practical experience with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and environmental auditing.
• Familiarity with conducting environmental impact assessments (EIA) and managing environmental risks.
• Strong capabilities in reporting, data analysis, and problem resolution.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder coordination expertise.
• Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
• Previous work experience within Middle Eastern and specifically Saudi Arabian projects is highly advantageous.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop, apply, and supervise environmental management plans ensuring compliance with project criteria, local laws, and international standards.
• Guarantee all project operations adhere to environmental permits, regulatory guidelines, and client protocols.
• Track environmental impacts linked to construction activities such as air and water quality, noise, vibration, waste handling, and soil conservation.
• Conduct regular environmental inspections, audits, and onsite evaluations to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
• Prepare detailed environmental reports, documentation for compliance, oversee incident investigations, and formulate corrective measures.
• Create and enforce programs for waste management, pollution prevention, erosion control, and sustainability.
• Organize environmental monitoring efforts and analyze measurements on dust emissions, wastewater, noise, and other key environmental indicators.
• Assist with environmental impact studies, assessments, and regulatory filings as necessary.
• Facilitate environmental training and awareness sessions for employees, subcontractors, and site workers.
• Liaise with governmental bodies, consultants, clients, and other stakeholders on environmental topics.
• Contribute to ESG goals, sustainability projects, biodiversity preservation, and overall environmental performance improvements during the project life cycle.
• Investigate environmental incidents or non-compliance issues and ensure corrective and preventive actions are promptly implemented.
