Role overview
Egis is looking for a dependable and professional Light Vehicle Driver based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role involves operating light vehicles safely to move people, items, or materials, while upholding strong standards of safety, punctuality, and professionalism. You will help ensure deliveries and transport tasks are completed securely and on time, while representing the organization in a respectful and reliable manner.
Key responsibilities
- Drive light vehicles carefully and efficiently while following UAE road rules and driving regulations.
- Choose practical routes and plan trips so arrivals are on schedule.
- Track mileage, fuel use, and vehicle servicing details accurately.
- Check the vehicle before and after trips to spot safety concerns or mechanical problems.
- Observe traffic laws, speed limits, and all required safety procedures while on the road.
- Interact politely and professionally with passengers, clients, and colleagues.
- Maintain the vehicle in a tidy, organized, and roadworthy condition.
- Report accidents, traffic offences, or vehicle damage to management without delay.
- Handle time effectively to meet delivery timelines and business commitments.
- Support loading and unloading duties when needed.
Required qualifications
- A valid UAE light vehicle driving licence with manual transmission authorization.
- At least 5 years of professional driving experience.
- A clean driving history with no significant traffic violations.
- Good understanding of UAE traffic laws and road rules.
- Strong planning, organization, and time management abilities.
- Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Comfort with GPS navigation as well as traditional map reading.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle checks and routine maintenance.
- A professional attitude and courteous conduct.
- Capability to work independently and follow instructions accurately.
- Preference will be given to candidates with driving experience in Abu Dhabi or elsewhere in the UAE.
- Preference will also be given to those familiar with fleet management systems or vehicle tracking tools.
