Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site Driller position based in Abqaiq, Saudi Arabia. The person in this role will run and observe drilling machinery and related systems to carry out drilling activities safely and efficiently for oil and gas and associated construction projects. The job involves preparing the work area, assembling and checking equipment, working from drilling plans, tracking drilling performance, and making operational changes when needed to maintain output and safety. The role also requires working closely with supervisors and crew members, maintaining logs and reports, performing routine equipment inspections and basic upkeep, and following company rules along with applicable safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
Responsibilities
- Set up drilling sites and prepare equipment before operations begin.
- Operate and keep watch over drilling systems to support safe, efficient work.
- Follow drilling plans and adjust the process according to site conditions and performance needs.
- Inspect tools, equipment, and work areas to spot hazards and confirm proper operation.
- Coordinate with supervisors and crew members to keep work on track.
- Record operational details in logs and reports as required.
- Carry out routine checks, basic troubleshooting, and minor maintenance on drilling equipment.
- Work in line with safety, environmental, quality, and company procedures at all times.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with drilling and directional drilling activities, including following drilling programs and modifying operations when conditions change.
- Working knowledge of heavy equipment used in drilling, including safe handling, basic fault-finding, and routine maintenance.
- Ability to inspect drilling tools, equipment, and site conditions to identify risks and support compliance.
- Experience in oil and gas field operations and familiarity with related practices, terminology, and safety expectations.
- A technical diploma or certification in drilling, oil and gas, or heavy equipment operation is preferred.
- Previous experience as a driller or assistant driller is considered an advantage.
- Capacity to follow safety rules, communicate effectively, and work in outdoor, physically demanding conditions.
