Job description
Role Overview
Join as a Dispenser at one of our retail stores, playing a vital part in the pharmacy team by assisting pharmacists and healthcare professionals to deliver safe and efficient pharmacy services. This position is located in-store within the UK; remote applicants and those without verified UK work rights will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescriptions ensuring medicines are supplied safely, including tasks such as ordering, labeling, endorsing, and prescription collection.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff within the store to support the management and execution of pharmacy services.
- Offer patients advice regarding their medications and refer more complex queries to the Pharmacist as appropriate.
- Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for safe and lawful prescription dispensing.
- Stay updated with innovations and comply with all operational protocols.
- Help patients effectively manage their prescriptions through reliable repeats and promoting medication adherence to minimize waste.
Opportunities and Development
You will work with advancing in-store technologies that enhance traditional dispensing procedures, aiming to improve patient safety and allow more patient interaction time. Ongoing training and development are provided to expand your healthcare knowledge, with options to progress towards roles such as a Pharmacy Technician or leadership within the store team.
Qualifications and Eligibility
- Must have completed the Pharmacy Advisor NVQ Level 2 qualification (or equivalent), or be progressing through an MPharm degree with at least one year completed.
- Valid UK right to work status is required; sponsorship for Skilled Worker Visas is not available for this role.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in community pharmacy settings is advantageous.
