Job Overview

Vertex Resource Group Ltd. is seeking a full-time, permanent Dispatcher based in Alida, Saskatchewan. This role requires coordinating the dispatch of Tank Trucks for various clients daily within the oil and gas sector. The Dispatcher will be responsible for scheduling both personnel and vehicles, demonstrating excellent communication, problem-solving equipment issues, and ensuring client needs are met effectively.

Schedule and Housing

• Work schedule consists of 7 days on followed by 7 days off.

Candidate Qualifications

• At least two years of relevant experience dispatching Tank Trucks, preferably in fluid hauling operations or the trucking industry.
• In-depth understanding of TDG regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), load weights and dimensions, permitting, load securement, and occupational health and safety standards.
• Ability to function both as part of a team and independently across various departments and professional areas.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are advantageous.
• Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to manage high-volume, fast-paced workloads effectively.
• Calm and efficient decision-making ability in high-pressure situations.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
• Possession of a valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean three-year driving record; Class 1 license is a valuable bonus.
• Certifications such as WHMIS, H2S Alive, TDG, CSO, Construction Safety Training System (CSTS), or Petroleum Safety Training (PST) are considered assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and coordinate schedules for trucks and employees daily.
• Maintain regular communication with employees regarding transportation activities.
• Oversee employee supervision during turnaround periods.
• Diagnose equipment issues and develop solutions to meet customer needs.
• Review, validate, and approve work tickets, logs, timesheets, and requested leave to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Support the Operations Manager with daily branch operations, including project implementation, general inquiries, asset management, personnel supervision, and service-related issues.
• Ensure client satisfaction by surpassing their expectations consistently.
• Engage in business development by cultivating strong relationships with existing clients to facilitate client retention and growth, as well as pursuing new client acquisition.
• Assist in enhancing branch growth through staff engagement, operational efficiency improvements, cost reduction measures, budgeting, and equipment upgrades.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
