Overview
GeoScienceWorld is seeking a skilled Digital Marketing Manager to lead and enhance our principal digital platforms, including in-product messaging, email campaigns, website content, video production, and social media engagement. This role demands active involvement in executing strategies that boost platform interaction and awareness among researchers, librarians, and the wider geoscience community. The position reports to the Director of Marketing and offers a remote working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage GeoScienceWorld's Customer Data Platform (CDP) to build user segments and deploy targeted messaging campaigns such as onboarding flows, feature updates, usage prompts, and re-engagement efforts aimed at increasing platform use and retention.
- Lead the end-to-end management of the organization's email newsletter program, enhancing both its frequency and quality to consistently deliver value to diverse audiences including librarians, researchers, authors, and societies.
- Maintain and regularly refresh GeoScienceWorld's marketing website and related platform pages to ensure information is accurate, up-to-date, and relevant for key users.
- Produce timely and precise training videos and promotional content that adhere to brand guidelines and best practices, covering the full extent of GeoScienceWorld's products and services.
- Implement AEO and SEO best practices for web content to maximize organic search visibility.
- Oversee GeoScienceWorld's presence on social media platforms including LinkedIn, BlueSky, and YouTube, ensuring a steady stream of professional communications that engage the geoscience and library communities.
- Handle digital marketing analytics through Google Analytics 4 by generating regular performance dashboards and reports for the marketing team and senior leadership.
- Utilize data insights to guide strategic recommendations for channel enhancements and prioritization of marketing initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Five to seven years of professional experience in digital marketing, emphasizing email marketing, social media management, and web content administration, combined with a readiness to adopt emerging tools and technologies.
- Proven hands-on expertise with Customer Data Platforms or marketing automation and in-product messaging systems; familiarity with Hum.Works is advantageous.
- Experienced in managing email marketing platforms, including list segmentation, campaign design, and deliverability oversight.
- Skilled in content creation tools such as Scribe, Canva, Pictory.AI, HeyGen, or similar video and training material creators.
- Competent in using Google Analytics 4 for traffic and event analysis and reporting.
- Basic understanding of AEO/SEO principles and their practical application to web content optimization.
- Excellent writing and communication capabilities, able to independently produce clear and audience-tailored content across channels.
- Ability to work autonomously within a small team, balancing routine operations and project-driven tasks.
- Bachelor's degree or comparable professional experience is required.
Preferred Experience
- Background in marketing targeted at scholarly communities.
- Familiarity with geoscience terminology and concepts.
Additional Information
Compensation: Base salary range from $75,000 to $100,000 annually, plus an annual discretionary bonus up to 5% and a retirement contribution of 7.5% of salary after one year. Benefits cover Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage.
Travel: Limited travel expected, up to 10% of the time.
Physical and Work Environment: The role requires verbal and written communication and data discernment, mostly sedentary work using computer and office equipment. Work environment can be a traditional office or home office setup.
