Position Summary
We invite applications for a Development Officer to join the Office of Advancement on a two-year fixed-term, full-time basis. This role offers a dynamic and varied set of responsibilities within a supportive team environment aimed at advancing the university's development and fundraising goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a diverse portfolio comprising alumni, individual donors, sponsors, corporations, and trusts.
- Executing proactive cultivation and stewardship initiatives to enhance donor relations and fundraising outcomes.
- Engaging in daily outreach activities such as phone calls, donation requests, proposal preparation, and development of compelling Case for Support documents.
- Coordinating fundraising appeals and organizing related events.
- Exploring and pursuing new fundraising opportunities consistently.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a relevant university degree or possesses equivalent professional experience.
- Proven success in fundraising, philanthropy, or sponsorship roles.
- Experienced in crafting communication materials, including letters and documents aimed at prospective donors.
- Skilled in supporting prospect research, cultivation, and stewardship plans.
- Competent with data management, research initiatives, and opportunity identification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, complemented by excellent writing, transcription, editing, and proofreading capabilities.
- Committed to ethical fundraising guidelines, including adherence to the FIA Code.
Desirable Attributes
- Background in higher education fundraising environments.
- Familiarity with Raisers Edge or other CRM systems.
- Membership in the Fundraising Institute Australia (FIA).
Employment Conditions and Benefits
- Annual starting salary of $85,707 plus 12% superannuation.
