Development Engineer / Senior Development Engineer - School of Engineering

About the Role

This position is part of the Additive Manufacturing Innovation Centre (AMIC), a Centre of Excellence focused on advancing Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology and design innovations. AMIC was jointly established by EDB and Nanyang Polytechnic to support national initiatives aimed at expanding industry adoption of AM, enhancing capabilities in design for AM optimization, and fostering process innovation. Located at Nanyang Polytechnic, AMIC also supports NYP's PET and CET programmes and facilitates industry collaboration, project incubation, and knowledge sharing through clinics and training sessions. The role is on a contract basis, lasting until December 31, 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in strategic planning for AMIC to meet key performance indicators.
• Support and work towards fulfilling project milestones, deliverables, and KPIs.
• Lead and manage innovation projects involving industry collaboration from inception through completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Engage in professional development activities including industrial engagement and project collaborations.
• Assist in resource planning and scheduling to facilitate successful project execution and completion.
• Promote industry adoption of AM technologies through capability development, technical disclosures, licensing, and proof of concept projects.
• Utilize previous industry experience to generate new leads and engagement opportunities.
• Organize and conduct competitions, workshops, and training sessions to achieve industry outreach and training objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in Additive Manufacturing, 3D Printing, or Design for Additive Manufacturing.
• Educational background in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or closely related fields.
• Highly self-motivated, results-driven, and able to function independently as a team player.
• Capable of multitasking, learning on the job, working autonomously, and handling pressure effectively.
