Development and Planning Engineer - Fleet Airworthiness Maintenance

Overview

This role focuses on maintaining continuous airworthiness of the fleet, ensuring maximum operational availability while complying with safety and regulatory standards. The position involves preparing and managing all necessary documentation related to fleet airworthiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess technical documents issued by aviation authorities, manufacturers, and vendors to determine their impact on fleet airworthiness, reliability, maintainability, and safety.
• Develop and modify the Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP) to meet regulatory, manufacturer, and reliability requirements.
• Update the Fleet Maintenance Plan to align with approved AMP, aiming to optimize aircraft availability and maintenance resource allocation.
• Incorporate new or revised AMP requirements into the maintenance tracking system to ensure full compliance.
• Evaluate manufacturer, vendor, or Part 21 organization-issued Service Bulletins and modifications for applicability and cost-effectiveness regarding the fleet.
• Issue work order requests or task cards to Part 145 maintenance organizations for required maintenance tasks.
• Ensure Part 145 contracted maintenance providers are prepared and execute maintenance events according to company policies, regulations, and standards.
• Offer technical support to Part 145 maintenance organizations and monitor maintenance order progress to uphold required standards.
• Prepare and review documentation needed for Airworthiness Review Certificate (ARC) or Certificate of Maintenance Requirement (CMR) renewals to protect fleet airworthiness.
• Analyze aircraft reliability data to meet program requirements effectively.
• Generate regular reports on fleet availability and maintenance status to inform management and help optimize the AMP.
• Update operational information systems with maintenance events to keep company departments informed.
• Collaborate with flight crews and Part 145 vendors to address technical issues or unscheduled aircraft events.
• Manage and control deferred items, planning corrections to maintain airworthiness and maximize aircraft availability.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Head.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Electronics Engineering; or
• Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) with at least five years of certifying experience, or EA SA Part 66 B1, B2, or C license (or equivalent).
• Proficiency in English both written and spoken.
• Preferred experience includes exposure to corporate, charter, VIP, or WIP operations.
• Familiarity with maintenance tracking systems such as CAMP and TRAX is advantageous.
