We are searching for a Store Department Manager (SDM) to lead, coach, and energize retail sales teams. As an integral part of the store management team, you will supervise retail staff to accomplish REI's business objectives and customer service standards. Your engaging leadership, ability to recognize achievements, and motivational presence will cultivate a collaborative and inspired workplace.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, assign, and communicate team responsibilities clearly.
• Oversee training initiatives, provide ongoing coaching, recognize contributions, and manage performance effectively.
• Ensure that core standards and visual merchandising directives are consistently implemented.
• Drive sales across all channels by promoting effective selling techniques.
• Adapt business approaches to enhance sales and service outcomes.
• Convey important company strategies and updates to team members as necessary.
• Recruit and nurture diverse talent both internally and externally.
• Encourage a customer-focused culture through recognition and incentives.
• Identify and develop high-performing employees, providing constructive feedback and coaching.
• Build strong teams through proactive employee development, engagement, and communication.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of 3 years of successful experience in retail management is preferred.
• Strong communicator with the ability to nurture relationships inside and outside the organization.
• Receptive to feedback and diverse viewpoints aimed at supporting business growth.
• Applies business acumen, innovative problem-solving, and sound judgment in decision-making.
• Makes well-informed recommendations by integrating information from multiple sources.
• Sets effective goals and priorities to produce high-quality work.
• Organizes resources and meets deadlines while keeping stakeholders informed about progress.
• Engages and motivates others to achieve meaningful organizational goals.

Compensation & Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.47 to $29.36 per hour. Regular employees also receive a generous employee discount, access to health insurance, a retirement savings plan, and accrual of paid time off.
