Overview
Join Primark's Technology team in Dublin as a Data Scientist within the Data Science & Measurement group. You'll play a pivotal role in crafting advanced analytical and data science solutions that empower informed business decisions. Collaborative teamwork combined with strong technical skills in Python, SQL, and machine learning will help you transform complex data into actionable insights, supporting business growth and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement data science initiatives such as predictive modeling, forecasting, segmentation, optimization, and experimentation to enhance decision-making and deliver measurable results.
- Prepare and manipulate intricate datasets utilizing Python, SQL, Databricks, and modern tools to build scalable workflows and reliable analytical data sets.
- Create, validate, and monitor machine learning and statistical models employing best practices in feature engineering, documentation, and performance assessment.
- Facilitate A/B testing and other experimental approaches by formulating hypotheses, evaluating outcomes, and quantifying the commercial impacts of interventions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and senior data professionals to translate complex analytics into clear and compelling recommendations supporting business actions.
- Work closely with Data Engineers, Analytics teams, and platform experts to operationalize solutions, improve scalability, and maintain system reliability.
- Promote continual advancement by developing reusable analytical assets, setting coding standards, automating processes, and increasing the adoption of data science solutions across the company.
Qualifications and Experience
- 2 to 5 years of professional experience applying data science, machine learning, statistical modeling, and advanced analytics to solve practical business challenges.
- Proficient in Python and SQL, with experience managing large datasets in environments like Databricks, Spark, or other cloud analytics platforms.
- Strong foundational knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, feature engineering, model evaluation, A/B testing, and statistical methods.
- Ability to interpret business needs into analytical questions, hypotheses, and actionable solutions with a commercial focus.
- Exceptional communication skills to present analytical findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audience through storytelling and visualization.
- Experience collaborating across data science, analytics, engineering, and business teams, balancing rigorous analysis with practical delivery in dynamic settings.
- Curiosity for emerging AI and data science technologies, committed to quality, simplicity, and ongoing self-improvement.
