Data Management Expert

Role Overview

This position focuses on leading autonomous activities aligned with long-term strategic goals in data management. The incumbent will serve as an internal advisor and facilitator, offering expertise to guide operational tasks, foster awareness on data protection and automation, and supervise the execution of data management initiatives within established policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and update Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) data management guidelines in compliance with the National Data Management Office (NDMO) standards and policies.
• Conduct thorough assessments to identify organizational needs and challenges in data management, pinpoint improvement opportunities.
• Establish and define data management policies, procedures, and guidelines consistent with strategic priorities.
• Create a comprehensive data management plan emphasizing data protection, automation, and storage awareness across the organization.
• Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) for data management aligned with strategic objectives to enable effective monitoring.
• Communicate data management policies, guidelines, strategies, and plans to stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding and support.
• Design and implement metadata management systems and programs to uphold data integrity and quality.
• Assign data ownership roles with clear duties and responsibilities, facilitating traceability in data breach events.
• Monitor the implementation of data management plans, identify data-related issues, and ensure timely resolution.
• Recommend and drive new data management projects to enhance data utilization in accordance with policies.
• Lead execution of data management projects ensuring alignment with timelines, management directives, and service delivery goals.
• Oversee follow-up on improvement action plans aimed at reducing recurring data issues.
• Prepare compliance reports for stakeholders illustrating adherence to data standards and policies.
• Ensure adherence to all pertinent policies, processes, and SOPs maintaining operational consistency and control.
• Assist in resolving escalated problems and provide guidance to junior team members for efficient operations.
• Escalate complex issues appropriately to ensure proper resolution.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.
• Train junior staff in relevant activities transferring knowledge and skills.
• Provide leadership by prioritizing, delegating, and monitoring junior staff workflow.
• Support direct reports and junior employees to comply with policies and processes during execution of their duties.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Master’s degree preferred in similar fields.
• At least 5 years of pertinent professional experience.
