About the Role
Join a leading organisation that is transforming its Group Finance division's data management. As a Finance Data Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing and enhancing data platforms supporting financial reporting, analytics, and strategic decision-making. Working within a compact and collaborative team, you will focus on developing reliable data pipelines and enhancing data quality, contributing to the continuous advancement of the finance data platform utilizing modern cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Construct and maintain data pipelines leveraging AWS and Snowflake technologies.
- Create datasets to facilitate reporting, forecasting, and detailed financial analysis.
- Improve platform data quality, dependability, and performance.
- Collaborate with Finance and Technology departments to capture requirements and implement effective data solutions.
- Engage in data modelling, optimization efforts, and platform upgrades.
- Participate in the ongoing modernization of the Group Finance data infrastructure.
- Promote engineering best practices, thorough documentation, and continual process enhancements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven commercial experience as a Data Engineer or Analytics Engineer.
- Practical expertise in AWS and Snowflake environments.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience creating ETL/ELT workflows.
- Familiarity with data modelling concepts and contemporary data engineering methodologies.
- Strong logical reasoning and analytical skills to tackle technical challenges.
- Excellent communication skills to interface effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Experience in financial services is beneficial but not mandatory.
Additional Details
Salary ranges between AUD 110,000 and 120,000 per annum, inclusive of superannuation and bonus. The location is Sydney CBD with a hybrid work model requiring three days per week onsite. Candidates must be either an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or be on a natural pathway to permanent residency to qualify.
