- Evaluate ancillary service lines such as imaging, lab, and pharmacy.
- Provide scheduled and ad hoc reporting for physicians, executives, and operational leaders.
- Spot patterns, irregularities, and improvement opportunities in the data.
Operational and financial analysis
- Review revenue cycle performance, including charge capture, coding patterns, denial trends, and reimbursement improvement opportunities.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning work.
- Collaborate with leadership to assess service line profitability and possible growth areas.
Clinical and quality analytics
- Support quality reporting and value-based care efforts.
- Examine clinical outcomes, treatment trends, and patient flow.
- Help with registry reporting and compliance-related metrics where needed.
Stakeholder collaboration
- Work side by side with physicians, administrators, billing staff, and IT teams.
- Convert complex information into straightforward, actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
- Act as a bridge between clinical operations and technical systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Health Informatics, Business, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in healthcare data analytics, with multi-specialty or oncology exposure preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience using data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Experience with EHR and practice management systems, ideally in Allscripts and Veradigm environments.
- Good understanding of healthcare operational and financial measures such as wRVUs, CPT/ICD coding, and revenue cycle concepts.
Preferred qualifications
- Background in oncology workflows, including medical oncology and/or radiation oncology.
- Exposure to radiation oncology data structures such as ARIA.
- Knowledge of ETL workflows and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with population health or value-based care analytics.
- Certification in healthcare analytics or data tools, such as CHDA, Power BI, or Tableau.
Key strengths for success
- Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving ability.
- High attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Comfort working with large, complex datasets.
- Clear communication and the ability to tell the story behind the data.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, physician-led environment.
