Cyber Threat Analyst

Overview

A leading quick-service restaurant company is recruiting a Cyber Threat Analyst to join its Global Security Operations team based in Plano, TX. This position requires working onsite with a hybrid schedule.

Key Duties

• Monitor alerts and events from SIEM, EDR, and cloud monitoring tools to detect suspicious activities.
• Perform detailed triage and analysis of security incidents to assess severity, impact, and scope on business operations.
• Correlate telemetry from network, endpoints, identity, and cloud sources to confirm incidents and uncover root causes.
• Escalate validated security incidents with thorough documentation to the incident response team.
• Assist in threat intelligence efforts by verifying indicators of compromise and enriching relevant threat data.
• Enhance detection content, including creating and refining queries, dashboards, and correlation rules.
• Document all investigation results, incident timelines, and recommend containment actions using case management platforms.

Mandatory Experience and Skills

• Minimum 2 years in security operations, cyber threat analysis, or digital forensics.
• Proficient with SIEM platforms like Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, or QRadar.
• Experience handling EDR tools such as Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike, or Carbon Black.
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, networking, and attacker tactics.
• Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework and cyber kill chain models.
• Skilled in analyzing logs and telemetry to identify threats.
• Strong verbal and written communication paired with excellent analytical problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• Experience with scripting or query languages including KQL, Python, PowerShell, or SQL.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, GSEC, GCIH, or equivalents preferred.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of threat intelligence platforms and validating IOCs.
• Contributions to detection engineering, playbooks, or security automation initiatives.
• Experience operating within a 24x7 Security Operations Center (SOC) setting.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly Pay Range: Approximately $41 to $52 per hour (subject to variation based on experience and qualifications).
