Customer Service Representative

Job overview

This role is centered on keeping assigned areas clean and sanitary while supporting the day-to-day upkeep of the site. The position also requires professional interaction with supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers, along with adherence to safety and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out janitorial and cleaning tasks as assigned.
• Complete all duties listed on the daily work schedule.
• Use motorized cleaning equipment as needed.
• Maintain the assigned area in a clean and orderly condition each day.
• Notify a supervisor about incidents, unsafe conditions, or hazards.
• Follow safety instructions, policies, procedures, and workplace rules at all times.
• Work cooperatively with team members and support shared tasks.
• Handle repetitive duties consistently and accurately.
• Keep workspaces clean throughout the shift.
• Follow all company protocols, procedures, and operational guidelines.
• Accept direction from supervisors and respond appropriately to guidance.
• Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers.
• Step in when staffing shortages occur.
• Assist the shift lead with completing punch-list items.
• Use required personal protective equipment correctly.
• Maintain a professional appearance and conduct on the job.
• Demonstrate an understanding of customer service and customer satisfaction.
• Understand reporting systems and environmental expectations.

Qualifications

No specific formal education is required. A background of 3 to 6 months of training or relevant experience is preferred, though an equivalent mix of education and experience may also be considered. A valid driver’s license may be needed, safety and task training certifications must be completed, and forklift certification may be required.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

Bilingual ability is an advantage. The role calls for the ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and related documents, along with strong verbal and written communication skills. Prior knowledge of cleaning methods, cleaning equipment care, cleaning compounds, and safe chemical use is valuable, and the person should be willing to share that knowledge with the team.

Physical demands and work environment

The job may require frequent sitting, talking, and listening. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.

Shift and compensation

Multiple work schedules are available: Sunday to Thursday from 6:00am to 2:30pm, Sunday to Thursday from 2:00pm to 10:30pm, Tuesday to Saturday from 6:00am to 2:30pm, and Thursday to Monday from 2:00pm to 10:30pm. Pay is offered at $15.50 to $16.50 per hour.
