About BX Studio

Purpose of the Role

This position addresses a need for strategic creative leadership on ongoing retainer accounts. Without a senior creative presence, client engagements default to reactive workflows, missing opportunities to transform retained clients into true strategic partners. As the Creative Director, Optimization, you will provide senior creative leadership across a portfolio of top retained accounts, establishing a strategic process that leverages analytics to inspire design enhancements, positioning BX as a proactive creative partner, and expanding design revenue within trusted accounts.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide creative direction across a portfolio of retained optimization clients, collaborating with Account Managers, Project Managers, designers, developers, and data analysts.
  • Develop and manage a monthly web strategy and conversion rate optimization (CRO) schedule for each account, prioritizing recommended initiatives.
  • Apply proven B2B SaaS web design principles such as optimal pricing page layouts, product page structures, navigation architecture, social proof positioning, form designs, call-to-action hierarchies, and demo request flows to ensure high-converting websites.
  • Identify missing fundamental elements in client websites instantly and recommend improvements without requiring lengthy research justifications, based on extensive pattern recognition from B2B buyer behavior.

  • Oversee web design within retainer projects, ensuring flawless execution from strategy to launch, supported by a team of designers.
  • Present creative concepts and strategic rationales to demanding enterprise clients, effectively securing client buy-in and trust with charisma and strong persuasive skills.
  • Provide direction and feedback to junior designers, ensuring quality standards are met through clear briefs and constructive critiques.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to elevate client brand style and digital experiences.
  • Leverage AI tools as integral to the creative workflow, utilizing AI-assisted wireframing, prototyping, and design system tools such as Claude, Figma AI, Cloud Design, and Paper to speed insight-to-artifact conversion.
  • Maintain and build design system elements including tokens, components, and markdown style guides to ensure AI tools deliver brand-accurate outputs over extended projects.
  • Assess AI-generated outputs against brand guidelines, intervening when deviations occur.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in creative direction including leadership of retained client projects within agency environments.
  • Proven experience with enterprise clients, demonstrating polished design outcomes for leading B2B organizations with a strong portfolio.
  • Primarily a strategic thinker with strong capabilities in UX, brand, and CRO decision-making; capable of detailed design work when necessary but focused on high-level direction rather than solo execution.
  • Comfortable interpreting analytics and incorporating data-driven insights into design processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills suitable for senior client-facing interactions, representing the creative perspective in discussions with B2B marketing executives.
  • Extensive experience designing B2B lead generation websites, CMS-driven sites, and conversion-optimized patterns.
  • Hands-on experience applying AI technology in active creative production workflows.
