Courier

Role Overview

Responsible for sorting, delivering, and picking up shipments along a designated courier route efficiently and cost-effectively while maintaining a professional representation of the company to customers and the public.

Key Duties

• Adhere strictly to delivery schedules, ensuring timely pickup and delivery of sensitive documents and parcels by considering traffic conditions, alternative routes, and regulations.
• Maintain upkeep of assigned delivery vehicle to ensure operational reliability.
• Support best practices in office punctuality and present a neat, professional image.
• Conduct pre-start inspections on motorcycles or vehicles, reporting any irregularities promptly.
• Utilize navigation tools and mobile apps proficiently for route efficiency.
• Comply fully with all legal and legislative requirements for road usage, including license maintenance and renewal obligations.
• Operate primarily under general supervision with periodic performance reviews and consult supervisors on complex issues.
• Follow company policies regarding health, safety, environment, and community engagement.
• Maintain physical fitness to handle packages of varying weights safely.
• Report service-related issues and provide quality feedback to customer service teams as needed.
• Identify and submit potential sales leads to the sales department.
• Continuously pursue and apply opportunities for improvement within operational tasks.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience driving manual transmission vehicles, including vans and motorcycles, for 1-3 years.
• Capability to work both independently and within team environments.
• Possess basic technical knowledge related to the role and ability to assimilate new concepts quickly.
• Completion of MSCE secondary school certificate is mandatory.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Familiarity with Lilongwe city roadways and a defensive driving certificate are advantageous.
