Corporate Development Associate

About the Role

Join Google's Corporate Development team as an Associate based in San Francisco, CA, working onsite. This position involves collaborating closely with various internal departments such as Product, Legal, Finance, and People Operations to identify, assess, and negotiate acquisition and strategic investment opportunities. You'll leverage your understanding of industry landscapes and regional differences to provide senior management with critical insights for making informed decisions. This role requires a blend of strong quantitative analysis, strategic thinking, and sound business acumen, combined with the ability to envision current and future possibilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth research on industry trends, competitive environments, and Google's internal product developments.
• Identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets and investment opportunities, including valuation analysis.
• Build and maintain relationships within the ecosystem and participate in relevant events to stay informed on key developments.
• Contribute to management team decision-making processes and assist in negotiating and executing agreements.
• Collaborate with Google’s product and engineering teams to align strategies and initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years in corporate development, investment banking, management consulting, or venture capital/private equity within the technology sector.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in conducting industry research and market analysis.
• At least 2 years handling due diligence and legal documentation related to transactional work.
• Experience within internet, communications, e-commerce, or cloud industries.
• Preferred: 4 years of experience analyzing and advising on diverse financial models used in the industry.
• Preferred: 4 years working in consulting or venture capital with exposure to legal terms and procedures.
• Familiarity with Google product ecosystem and a broad cross-functional perspective.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, including financial modeling and company valuation expertise.
• Excellent attention to detail, outstanding communication and people management skills, solid business judgment, and strong work ethic.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual compensation ranges between $123,000 and $177,000 (USD), plus a target bonus of 15%, equity awards, and comprehensive benefits.
