Construction Labourer - FAC Crew

About the Company and Role

Park Paving Ltd., a prominent road construction contractor in Edmonton with over 50 years of local ownership and operation, seeks Construction Labourers for its FAC crew. Key Responsibilities

• Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, shoveling, raking, pin hammering, and sweeping.
• Operate small compaction equipment including jumping jacks, tampers, and small rollers.
• Use power tools such as concrete chop saws, jackhammers, pressure washers, and power brooms effectively.
• Place and compact construction materials like gravel, soil cement, asphalt, cold mix, black dirt, and sod.
• Remove concrete rubble and other debris from work sites to keep areas clean and safe.
• Efficiently move materials by dumping, placing, and loading into trucks as needed.
• Manually clear debris from roadways, sidewalks, landscaping, and curbs.
• Measure distances from reference points and verify construction specifications using string lines, grade markers, and hubs.
• Assist with bucket and attachment changes on heavy equipment.
• Raise and lower catch basins, manholes, and water valves safely.
• Provide flagging duties in high traffic areas to ensure site safety.
• Spot equipment operation in congested zones to prevent accidents.
• Attach water meters to fire hydrants and fill water tanks as required.
• Support setup and maintenance of worksite barricades and signage.
• Help secure cargo and equipment on vehicles and trailers.
• Maintain a clean and hazard-free worksite at all times.
• Assist with landscaping restoration efforts post-construction.

Compensation
