Job Overview

This role involves preparing ingredients for cooking, which includes dividing, chopping, and properly storing food items. You'll handle washing and peeling fresh produce, measuring and combining ingredients, and cooking dishes according to specific recipes, presentation criteria, and quality checks. The position requires preparing cold foods, operating various kitchen appliances such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, and ensuring food is cooked correctly through testing.

Key Duties

• Monitor food quality throughout preparation
• Set up and dismantle the workstation effectively
• Serve food in appropriate portions using correct containers
• Clean and sanitize kitchen spaces, surfaces, tools, knives, and equipment
• Verify the right temperature for cooking appliances and foods
• Adhere strictly to safety and security protocols, promptly reporting any hazards or incidents to management
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality regarding company information
• Communicate clearly and maintain positive workplace relationships to support team goals
• Meet quality standards and work stamina requirements, including standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and performing physical tasks requiring lifting up to 25 pounds
• Perform any additional responsibilities assigned by supervisors

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate should possess at minimum a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and have at least one year of relevant experience in a similar culinary role. No supervisory experience or certifications are required.
