Overview
We are seeking a Clinical Program Manager for a contract role based in Foster City, CA, working onsite three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). This position is for a 6-month duration. Candidates must be local to the area.
Education and Experience Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline;
- Or 8+ years with a master's degree or MBA;
- Or 4+ years with a PhD, PharmD, DVM, or MD in a scientific field.
A minimum of 5 years participating in cross-functional project management activities is required. A scientific background is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage one complex project team or two less complex teams.
- Partner with project leaders to facilitate efficient meetings and ensure progress between sessions.
- Co-chair project meetings and coordinate team communications and operations.
- Direct all project communications, keeping all stakeholders fully informed about activities and status.
- Organize project management support across functions; attend sub-team meetings and set up ad hoc groups.
- Ensure integration of timing, scope, and resources into development plans.
- Identify issues, propose solutions, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage project data including timelines using G.Plan (Planisware) and collaborate with other project managers for alignment.
- Author sections of project documentation and prepare high-quality materials for governance committee reviews.
- Support the Development Project Team or Program Strategy Team during governance meetings.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong scientific foundation and direct drug development experience.
- Experience in cross-functional project/program management.
- Support experience across stages including research, preclinical, IND, Phase I, and minimum through Phase II.
- Experience in governance procedures and executive presentations.
- Capability in preparing governance documentation and working with multidisciplinary scientific teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in early-stage development and clinical development program management.
- Cross-functional scientific leadership support experience.
- Skills in governance package preparation, executive presentations, leadership meeting support, and decision-making forums.
- Experience collaborating with external partners, strategic alliances, and clinical leadership.
- Background in oncology or other therapeutic areas with strong drug development project management skills is a plus; virology experience is not mandatory.
