Cleansing Driver Operative

Role Overview

Adur & Worthing Councils are seeking a physically fit Cleansing Driver Operative to join their team based at Commerce Way, Lancing. This role offers a unique opportunity to work outdoors, carrying out essential community cleansing activities five days a week from Monday to Friday, with an early finish each day.

Main Duties

• Collect domestic and commercial food waste efficiently and safely.
• Execute litter picking and sweep the fronts of shop premises.
• Empty litter bins regularly and manage the collection of bulky household waste items.
• Attend to fly tipping incidents within the district, ensuring prompt removal.
• Repair, replace, and maintain litter bins as needed.
• Deliver and collect domestic and trade bins throughout the Adur and Worthing district.
• Be fully responsible for the vehicle, including performing daily safety inspections before use.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety practices and complete all necessary documentation, returning it to the office timely.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety at all work sites.
• Ensure the vehicle is taken to disposal points for emptying during or at the end of the day.
