Position Overview

MoveSmart Rentals is seeking a dependable and meticulous Cleaner to service residential rental properties. This role involves performing thorough cleaning tasks including move-in and move-out cleans, rental turnover cleaning, and preparing properties to be listing-ready.

Primary Responsibilities

• Visit residential rental properties for scheduled cleaning appointments covering move-in/move-out cleans, rental turnovers, and listing preparations.
• Perform comprehensive residential cleaning adhering to company standards.
• Clean all areas such as kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living spaces, halls, appliances, floors, surfaces, cabinets, and fixtures.
• Remove dust, dirt, debris, garbage, and any remaining items as needed.
• Wipe down surfaces including counters, sinks, mirrors, doors, baseboards, and frequently touched zones.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, and maintain floor cleanliness.
• Clean the insides of appliances like refrigerators, stoves, ovens, microwaves, dishwashers, washers, and dryers when required.
• Detect areas requiring extra cleaning, junk removal, repairs, maintenance, or follow-up.
• Capture clear before-and-after photographs and videos of the properties and completed work.
• Provide detailed updates, notes, photos, and videos after every visit.
• Communicate professionally with landlords, applicants, tenants if applicable, and internal teams.
• Adhere strictly to cleaning checklists, company guidelines, access protocols, and appointment specifics.

Additional Typical Tasks

• Perform deep cleaning and detailed kitchen, bathroom, and appliance cleaning.
• Dust and clean surfaces, cabinets, drawers, window sills, and baseboards.
• Remove garbage and conduct light debris cleanup.
• Ensure listing-readiness for photos, showings, inspections, or tenant move-in.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven prior experience in cleaning roles such as cleaner, housekeeper, cleaning contractor, or residential cleaner.
• Strong familiarity with residential cleaning standards.
• Possession of reliable personal transportation.
• Own cleaning supplies and equipment necessary for each job appointment.
• Comfortable working independently at residential locations.
• Own an iPhone 13 or an equivalent smartphone with a high-quality camera for documentation purposes.
• Ability to take clear property photos and videos of completed cleaning tasks.
• Capability to prepare clear written notes and submit detailed updates after each assignment.
• Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
• Professionalism, punctuality, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Competent at following company checklists, instructions, and access details.
• Effective and respectful communication skills with landlords, applicants, tenants (where applicable), and internal team members.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience specifically in move-in, move-out, or rental turnover cleaning.
• Experience cleaning properties before photoshoots, showings, inspections, or tenant occupancy.
• Skills identifying property damage, maintenance issues, junk removal needs, pest concerns, access challenges, or safety hazards.
• History of independent fieldwork for property management, leasing, cleaning, or home services companies.

The successful candidate will be dependable, detail-focused, and able to effectively work unsupervised at rental properties. Pride in maintaining clean, professional standards is essential, as is understanding the needs of rental property readiness for photography, inspections, and tenant move-in. They strictly follow instructions and checklists, meticulously document tasks using photos and videos, and promptly report any problems noted on site. They demonstrate punctuality, respect, strong organizational skills, and clear communication with all relevant stakeholders.

Fieldwork Requirements

Important Notes

This role primarily focuses on cleaning and preparing properties for listing. Cleaners are responsible for identifying and reporting issues such as property damage, maintenance needs, junk accumulation, pest problems, access difficulties, or unsafe conditions so that respective teams can address them accordingly.
