About the Role
We are searching for an accomplished and visionary Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) to lead our enterprise procurement strategy and manage all facets of sourcing, supplier management, procurement processes, and strategic purchasing. As a vital member of the executive management team, the CPO will spearhead operational excellence, enhance supplier partnerships, optimize procurement outcomes, and contribute to fulfilling the organization's long-term business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement the company's enterprise procurement strategy aligned with corporate objectives and growth plans.
- Provide leadership across all procurement areas including strategic sourcing, category and supplier management, purchasing operations, contract oversight, and procurement compliance.
- Develop and enforce procurement policies and standards that ensure consistency, transparency, compliance, and ongoing improvement.
- Drive enterprise-wide sourcing strategies to maximize supplier performance, quality, efficiency, and long-term value.
- Establish and nurture strong strategic relationships with suppliers and partners fostering collaboration and innovation.
- Lead complex commercial negotiations and create contract frameworks supporting organizational targets and sustainable supplier connections.
- Collaborate with departments such as Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Technology, Legal, and executive leadership to synchronize procurement efforts with enterprise priorities.
- Champion procurement transformation through process enhancements, digital tools, automation, and data-driven decisions.
- Monitor procurement performance via executive dashboards, supplier scorecards, and KPIs to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Assess market dynamics, supplier capabilities, industry trends, and economic factors to inform sourcing strategies and planning.
- Strengthen risk management, business continuity, and procurement resilience across the enterprise.
- Oversee procurement budgets, organizational development, talent cultivation, and resource management for maximum effectiveness.
- Build and mentor a high-performing procurement leadership team cultivating a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
- MBA or advanced business degree highly preferred.
- Over 20 years of progressive leadership in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or commercial operations at executive levels.
- Proven experience managing procurement across complex, multi-location, or global enterprises.
- Deep expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship and contract management, procurement governance, category management, and organizational transformation.
- Strong knowledge of procurement functions, market analysis, commercial strategies, and enterprise performance metrics.
- Ability to lead large cross-functional projects and influence executive decision-making.
- Excellent financial, analytical, and business planning skills including procurement performance reporting.
- Outstanding leadership, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Experience deploying enterprise procurement technologies, analytics platforms, and digital procurement solutions to enhance performance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalents are advantageous.
- Experience in sectors like manufacturing, healthcare, technology, aerospace, consumer products, industrial, logistics, or retail.
- Track record of leading procurement transformation, supplier development programs, sourcing optimization, and operational excellence.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, eProcurement platforms, supplier relationship management tools, spend analytics, and procurement automation technologies.
