Cashier

Position Purpose

Cashiers are essential frontline team members tasked with delivering efficient, courteous, precise, and secure customer service at checkout. Their duties include handling sales and returns transactions and overseeing the Self-Checkout zone.

They actively expand their product and project knowledge to better assist customers and identify opportunities to increase sales. Strict adherence to company policies and procedures is maintained to reduce losses.

A Head Cashier leads by organizing cashier assignments and offering help by expediting price verifications, authorizing Point of Sale actions and discounts across various registers including mainline, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental areas.

This role provides a primary escalation point for customer concerns and supports the management, coaching, and development of fellow Front End Associates. Responsibilities also include aiding in onboarding and training new Cashiers and using all coaching resources to enhance team performance.

Qualifications

The preferred candidate for the Head Cashier role should have a minimum of one year of prior Cashier experience.
