CAD Engineer (FreeCAD) - Remote Contract

Role Overview

This contract position involves working remotely as a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in FreeCAD. The engineer will design and improve mechanical components and assemblies, ensuring manufacturability and compliance with engineering standards. The role requires collaboration with various teams to provide high-quality technical solutions for challenging projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and revise 3D mechanical models and assemblies using FreeCAD for engineering assignments.
• Conduct thorough design reviews to identify and address issues in mechanical components.
• Prepare and manage technical documents including drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs).
• Enhance designs focusing on performance, cost efficiency, and manufacturability, adhering to industry standards.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to validate and refine designs.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Expertise in parametric modeling and assembly design using FreeCAD.
• Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing methods.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and troubleshooting.
• Experience with CAD collaboration tools and version control systems is an advantage.
