Role Overview

The Buyer is accountable for overseeing Open to Buy (OTB) deployment and product selection processes, ensuring commercial viability and proper brand image representation across points of sale. This responsibility spans from initial buying stages through post-purchase review and continues throughout the season.

Key Duties

• Apply creativity and expertise in planning, product selection, and purchasing activities.
• Introduce innovative merchandise, new concepts, and potentially exclusive products to captivate new clientele and boost sales.
• Influence and maintain control over OTB management and expenditure strategies.
• Interpret sales data to inform strategic business decisions.
• Manage gross margin, inventory turnover, and sell-through rates.
• Engage proactively in purchase decisions, product selection, and order quantification.
• Oversee markdown strategies and liquidation of stock.
• Communicate buying decisions to management and store teams.
• Collaborate closely with marketing, visual merchandising, store operations, supply chain, and e-commerce teams.
• Stay informed of current trends, global market dynamics, and competitor activities.
• Maintain supplier relations and manage all communications.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers concerning stock exchanges, returns to vendor (RTVs), and markdown contributions.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion, or a related discipline.
• Minimum six years of relevant industry experience, including at least two years in a comparable luxury buying role.
• Strong skills in buying and retail analytics.
• Willingness to travel periodically as required.
• Sound understanding of stock management and market trends.
• Excellent communication, relationship building, and project management capabilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Fluency in English required; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
• Logical and data-driven approach to problem solving.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Capability to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced environment.
