About USU Solutions DACH
USU is a leading provider of software and service solutions for IT and Customer Service Management. With over 650 employees across 10 locations, the company aims to make businesses more successful through improved workflows, collaboration, and information flows.
Role Overview
As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you will focus on identifying genuine business potentials rather than merely scheduling meetings. Your responsibilities include qualifying inbound leads, developing outbound opportunities, and recognizing companies where USU can deliver significant value. You will engage comfortably with senior stakeholders, quickly grasp complex topics, understand diverse business models and challenges, and employ a modern B2B sales approach involving research, strategic planning, relevant conversation starters, strong communication skills, and consistent follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Qualify inbound leads originating from marketing campaigns, website inquiries, events, and webinars, and proactively perform outbound acquisition via telephone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels.
- Develop and maintain account-based prospecting plans targeted at defined customer segments and accounts.
- Analyze target accounts, buying centers, decision-makers, trigger events, and potential pain points.
- Create and validate pain-point hypotheses based on observable signals such as IT complexity, cloud transformation, audits, renewals, tool sprawl, compliance demands, or digital initiatives.
- Engage and qualify stakeholders across IT, IT operations, procurement, finance, compliance, customer service, digital transformation, and executive leadership.
- Conduct initial qualification discussions to assess ideal customer profile fit, business pains, urgency, timing, decision-making structure, and business impact.
- Schedule qualified discovery meetings and product demonstrations for the sales team.
- Collaborate closely with regional sales managers to prioritize target accounts, cover territories, and manage multi-threaded sales approaches.
- Utilize tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, 6sense, and other prospecting platforms.
- Meticulously document all activities, contacts, leads, accounts, and opportunities in the CRM system.
- Participate in sales trainings, coaching sessions, role plays, and methodology workshops like consultative selling and objection handling.
- Meet monthly and quarterly KPIs concerning activity levels, meeting bookings, qualified opportunities, and contributions to the sales pipeline.
- Ensure the quality of meetings scheduled is as important as their quantity.
Candidate Profile
- Possess 1 to 3 years of experience in business development, inside sales, sales development, B2B SaaS, IT services, consulting, or comparable roles; motivated junior candidates with business insight and communication skills are also encouraged to apply.
- Experience with complex or technology-driven products like IT asset management, IT operations, IT monitoring, IT service management, SaaS, cloud platforms, customer service, or knowledge management is preferred.
- Familiarity with account-based prospecting, outbound sales, or enterprise sales processes is advantageous.
- Comfortable using tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, 6sense, or similar.
- Excellent command of English and fluent proficiency in the relevant local market language.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not mandatory if practical experience is significant.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities enabling multitasking across accounts and ongoing discussions.
Employee Benefits
- Personalized learning and development opportunities through the "U Step Up!" training program.
- Buddy system and tailored onboarding plans, including an introductory event for new employees.
- Flexible working hours and the possibility of hybrid work arrangements.
- Opportunity for workation within EU countries.
- 30 days of paid vacation annually, with extra leave granted for long-term employment and additional special leave options.
- Possibility of exchanging up to 44 extra leave days against salary compensation.
- Accident insurance and assistance with disability insurance.
- Discounted memberships for corporate fitness programs such as EGYM Wellpass and Urban Sports Club.
- Referral bonuses for recommending new employees.
- Subsidized meal offerings for lunch.
- Complimentary selection of hot and cold beverages and snacks.
- Ample parking facilities including electric vehicle charging stations.
