Role Overview
This position is for a motivated Business Development Manager focused on golf and sporting groups at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort, a property linked to one of Australia’s most well-known golf courses. The role also supports business growth across Elysia Wellness Retreat.
The successful candidate will use a strong sales background and genuine interest in golf to expand business opportunities, strengthen client partnerships, and promote the resorts as preferred venues for golf and sporting group stays and experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement sales plans to increase golf and sporting group revenue.
- Develop relationships with important clients in golf clubs, sports bodies, schools, and leisure travel segments.
- Bring in new business through outreach, networking, and customised proposals.
- Work closely with resort operations, events, revenue, and marketing teams to ensure high-quality group experiences.
- Act as a representative for the properties at industry functions, trade events, and golf tournaments.
- Meet clients, carry out site inspections, and keep CRM information and sales reports accurate and up to date.
- Form partnerships with tourism and sporting organisations to lift group bookings and revenue.
Required Experience and Skills
- 2 to 4 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably in golf, hospitality, tourism, or sporting environments.
- Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets and grow key customer accounts.
- Strong communication, relationship management, and negotiation capabilities.
- Well-developed organisation skills and the ability to juggle several priorities at once.
- Self-driven, proactive work style with a strong focus on customer experience.
- Professional appearance and an authentic interest in golf and sporting events.
