Business Analyst - Operating Model Transformation

Role Overview

This role invites an experienced Business Analyst specializing in complex environments to bring clarity, structure, and data-driven decision-making to organization-wide operational transformations. Rather than conventional requirements gathering, this position emphasizes designing future operational models through thorough process maturity assessments and roadmapping for implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead discovery and evaluation of existing business processes, operating models, and organizational capabilities.
• Develop and implement structured methods for process analysis, maturity assessment, benchmarking, and prioritization.
• Conduct workshops, stakeholder interviews, and evidence-collection activities across various business areas.
• Analyze policies, governance frameworks, operational controls, management information, and service performance metrics.
• Evaluate organizational readiness across dimensions such as people, processes, technology, data, and controls.
• Identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and opportunities, producing recommendations grounded in evidence.
• Create prioritization, sequencing, and transition roadmaps that facilitate safe and effective transformation delivery.
• Prepare governance-ready materials including analysis packs, maturity assessments, readiness reports, and insights suitable for assurance, audits, and independent reviews.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary delivery teams operating within Agile frameworks and governed environments.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated experience in business analysis applied to complex transformation, change, or operating model programmes.
• Expertise in process mapping, process improvement, gap analysis, and business process redesign.
• Proven skill in leading structured discovery workshops and distilling complex stakeholder inputs into clear, actionable outcomes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with an emphasis on evidence-based approaches.
• Ability to produce traceable and defensible documents appropriate for executive stakeholders, governance boards, and audits.
• Experience with Lean, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, or related process optimization methodologies.
• Holdings of Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt or equivalent certification are highly advantageous.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management competencies with an ability to influence across all organizational levels.

Desirable Experience

• Background in Financial Services, Financial Crime, Risk, Compliance, or Regulatory sectors.
• Experience with UK public sector or regulatory programs.
• Familiarity with operating within regulated, assurance-heavy environments.
• Knowledge of operating model design and delivering large-scale organizational change.
