By combining primary care, mental health, gynecology, dermatology, and wellness services in both physical and virtual settings, Tia aims to enhance patient outcomes, reduce costs, and improve experiences for both patients and providers.

Role Overview

The Billing Care Coordinator will serve as a key contact for members with complex or urgent billing inquiries. This position requires addressing billing questions thoughtfully and clearly, helping members comprehend charges, navigate insurance queries, solve payment issues, and ensuring they feel their concerns are handled with care.

You will collaborate closely with experts in Revenue Cycle Management, Billing Success Coordinators, and related billing support teams to research, document, escalate, and effectively resolve billing cases with accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing incoming billing-related calls, escalations, and urgent member requests with professionalism and empathy.
  • Investigating and resolving complicated billing concerns such as insurance denials, payment errors, and patient balances.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure smooth resolution and appropriate handoffs.
  • Documenting all calls, cases, and follow-ups precisely, adhering to HIPAA and compliance protocols.
  • Handling escalation processes, guaranteeing cases are fully resolved or properly routed and communicated.
  • Delivering compassionate and clear communication that supports members throughout the billing resolution process.
  • Identifying patterns in billing issues or workflow inefficiencies and contributing insights for process improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience exceeding 1 year in billing support, revenue cycle, patient/member services, or a high-touch customer service role.
  • Comfort with handling live phone interactions, managing escalations, and conducting sensitive discussions with professionalism and empathy.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong documentation skills, and dedication to follow-through.
  • Competence in researching issues, adhering to defined workflows, and managing cases to resolution.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with billing systems, ticketing platforms, phone systems, and tools like Google Workspace.
  • Ability to work full-time during standard weekday hours.
  • Authorization to work legally within the United States.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in healthcare billing, insurance claims, revenue cycles, or patient financial services.
  • Experience handling insurance denials, payment conflicts, and patient billing disputes.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, payer workflows, patient billing, and healthcare compliance standards.
  • Experience managing shared queues, escalated support workflows, or distributed support teams.

Work Location and Schedule

This is a remote role covering the entire United States. The position requires full-time weekday availability to manage live phone and chat member interactions throughout the workday.
