Bending Machine Operator

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Bending Machine Operator experienced in operating CNC Press Brake machines using DELEM Control systems. The ideal candidate will read and interpret engineering drawings and accurately set up and control bending machines to produce quality sheet metal components conforming to specifications.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate CNC Press Brake or bending machines with DELEM Control, focusing on program selection and basic editing.
• Interpret engineering drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, and bend angles.
• Set up and configure machinery parameters such as bend angle, back gauge position, bending sequence, and correction values in line with job requirements.
• Select appropriate punch and die tooling according to material thickness and bending needs.
• Carry out first-piece inspections to verify bending accuracy before mass production.
• Use measurement tools like Vernier Caliper, Steel Rule, Angle Gauge, or Protractor to check dimensions and angles.
• Adjust machine parameters to maintain high accuracy and quality in production.
• Ensure proper bend sequencing to prevent defects such as scratches, deformations, or incorrect angles.
• Manage various sheet metal materials and thicknesses while adhering to safety procedures and PPE standards.
• Maintain productivity and product quality as per production schedules and plans.
• Adhere to 5S workplace organization, safety standards, and cleanliness protocols, including routine machine maintenance.
• Identify and report any machine issues, tooling problems, or quality concerns to supervisors promptly.
• Aim to reduce rejections, reworks, and material waste.
• Maintain accurate records of production and inspections.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Completed ITI or Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Fitter, or Sheet Metal disciplines is preferred.
• At least three years of practical experience operating CNC bending or press brake machines.
• Proficiency with DELEM Control systems (preferably DA-66T or similar models).
• Strong ability to interpret 2D engineering drawings and apply knowledge of bending operations and sequences.
• Familiarity with punch and die tooling setup and selection.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments such as Vernier Calipers and Angle Gauges.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining product quality.
• Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively within a production team.
