About the Organization
We are a community-driven organization dedicated to enhancing local health and well-being in the Pelorus area through volunteer efforts. The Pelorus Area Health Trust (PAHT) operates with committed volunteers who focus on improving access to primary medical care and assisting local community groups in fostering health and wellness initiatives.
Role Overview
We seek volunteers to support various behind-the-scenes tasks including gardening, maintenance, household chores such as baking, washing, ironing, mending clothes, sorting and pricing items, transporting goods between shops, preparing food like soup and preserves, fixing broken items, cleaning, making cups of tea, and providing a friendly ear to community members.

- A positive and proactive attitude towards volunteering.
- Consistent and regular availability to contribute time.
- A kind and empathetic demeanor.
Time Commitment
Volunteers can choose to work morning shifts, afternoon shifts, or full-day shifts according to their convenience. Some activities can also be done from home. The Community Lounge is open for volunteers to drop in as they wish to contribute a few hours. Flexibility is offered, but we require volunteers who commit to regular participation rather than occasional or infrequent involvement.
