Role Overview

The Associate Product Manager will play a crucial role in advancing Lumenci AI, an agentic AI platform designed for patent analysis and legal workflows. This position focuses on driving disciplined product execution during the transition from proof-of-concept to production, involving interplay between large language models (LLMs), workflow automation, and specialized legal and intellectual property domains.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead sprint planning and Agile ceremonies (e.g., standups, retrospectives, backlog grooming) as Scrum Master.
• Convert user stories and technical needs into clear product requirement documents (PRDs), epics, and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain consistent delivery progress with engineering teams and external collaborators.
• Collaborate with AI engineers and domain experts to prototype and validate agentic workflows.
• Evaluate LLM outputs for accuracy, reliability, and relevance to domain-specific tasks like patent claim analysis.
• Design metrics frameworks to assess agent performance in relation to user expectations.
• Apply structured problem-solving techniques (such as root cause analysis) to identify and resolve feature gaps and failures.
• Balance rapid delivery with thorough validation to ensure quality.
• Monitor key product metrics including user onboarding, feature utilization, and satisfaction.
• Develop scalable, thorough product documentation such as decision logs, workflow diagrams, and onboarding materials.
• Align day-to-day activities with strategic objectives (OKRs) and communicate progress and trade-offs transparently to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 1 to 3 years of experience in product management or closely related positions.
• Strong proficiency in Agile and Lean product development methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to transform ambiguous challenges into delivered features.
• Experience crafting precise and actionable requirements for engineering teams.
• Familiarity with AI and LLM fundamentals, including understanding of common production behaviors such as hallucinations, prompt sensitivity, and latency.
• Exposure to Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows or vector search methodologies.
• Hands-on approach with prompt testing, agent output evaluation, and basic coding experimentation.
• Bonus: Knowledge of evaluation metrics for LLM quality like precision, recall, and human-in-the-loop processes.
• Adaptability to fast-paced, lean start-up environments with evolving priorities and multi-role responsibilities.
• Strong communication skills for clear decision rationale and active user feedback integration.
• Desirable: background in intellectual property, patent law, legal technology, or familiarity with patent invalidation and infringement analysis concepts.
