Position Overview
The Associate Product Development Manager for Denim is responsible for designing a product category under the guidance of the Buying team to fulfill the brand’s business objectives. This role handles the execution of product planning and development to meet consumer and brand expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Buying, Product Development, and Production teams to analyze business needs, address production challenges, and research new materials such as fabrics and trims.
- Support and implement product, marketing, and business strategies aligned with regional sales and profit targets.
- Participate actively in cross-functional teams to drive the New Product Development (NPD) process.
- Attend all relevant product fittings and provide direction to address design alterations and fit issues.
- Assist in developing customer strategies by understanding the roles of key customers and tailoring marketing approaches accordingly.
- Work with internal departments to develop programs based on consumer insights and trend data, translating these insights into actionable strategic plans.
- Collaborate with the Buying team to design collections that reflect brand needs through comprehensive market research and business analysis.
- Identify opportunities for market research to stay updated on consumer preferences, trends, new products, and packaging innovations, working alongside regional marketing teams.
- Manage and conduct performance testing of current and new products to ensure quality and market fit.
- Create technical packages and input product data into the Enovia PLM system to facilitate design execution.
- Contribute seasonally to concept presentation meetings by preparing visual boards and materials.
- Monitor product group performance and customer satisfaction continuously to proactively solve problems and reduce potential losses or risks.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Minimum of an Associate Degree is required.
- 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in product development or a related field.
Additional Information
Applicants must be able to work onsite at the Los Angeles office from Monday to Friday without remote work options.
