Overview
The Associate, Media Strategy is an integral member of The Atlantic’s Revenue Operations team, tasked with overseeing the end-to-end process of digital advertising campaigns. These campaigns span across multiple platforms including onsite, newsletters, audio, paid distribution, and emerging media. The role demands managing campaigns from their initial conception to performance analysis, ensuring delivery against client KPIs and contributing positively to revenue growth and business sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee assigned campaigns from planning stages to completion, ensuring execution timelines, KPI targets, and documentation accuracy are met.
- Create detailed media plans and proposals rooted in client objectives, historical campaign performance, audience data, and The Atlantic’s product offerings.
- Coordinate trafficking instructions with Paid Distribution and AdOps teams, confirming campaign setups are accurate across all channels.
- Monitor campaign pacing and outcomes, proactively recognizing potential issues and suggesting data-driven optimizations.
- Compile and maintain reporting dashboards employing standardized templates, delivering insightful, KPI-focused summaries.
- Collaborate with the Insights team to analyze data outcomes and translate findings into actionable recommendations for future strategies.
- Ensure all billing, reconciliation, and campaign closure documents are accurate and complete.
- Maintain up-to-date campaign information and data in internal tools such as AdBook, Salesforce, and pacing trackers.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum one year’s experience in digital media, advertising operations, or analytics-related roles.
- Comprehensive understanding of digital campaign phases including planning, trafficking, optimization, and reporting.
- Strong analytical capabilities with advanced skills in Excel and Google Workspace.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Familiarity with order management platforms, Google Ad Manager, Salesforce, or equivalent tools is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Motivated to advance knowledge and develop strategic media planning expertise.
Performance Expectations
- Ensure precise and timely delivery of campaigns throughout their lifecycle.
- Contribute to achieving campaign KPIs while effectively escalating any pacing or budget concerns.
- Produce accurate reporting and provide insightful narratives to enhance understanding of campaign results.
- Foster seamless interdepartmental cooperation with teams including Sales, AdOps, Paid Distribution, Creative Strategy, and Insights.
- Exhibit ongoing professional development in strategic thinking, platform proficiency, and consultative media planning.
Additional Information
The position offers a salary range from $66,000 to $75,000 annually. The role is located in New York City or Washington, D.C. and is designated as a Guild position.
