Role Overview
The Assistant Professor position is a full-time, on-campus role based at the Vapi campus. Responsibilities include planning and delivering lectures, tutorials, and labs aligned with program objectives covering polymers, AI, sustainability, and related subjects. The role also demands designing course curricula and materials, evaluating student work through assignments and exams, and providing mentorship and academic guidance. Faculty members will engage in research activities, participate in departmental and university committees, maintain industry collaborations, contribute to accreditation efforts, pursue continual professional growth, and support university academic events and outreach programs.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Possess advanced academic qualifications, ideally a PhD, in Polymer Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, Sustainability, or a closely related field.
- Strong pedagogical skills including course preparation, classroom and laboratory teaching, student mentoring, and conducting fair evaluations.
- Demonstrated research proficiency such as designing research projects, publishing in scholarly journals, presenting at academic forums, and obtaining research funding or industry collaborations.
- Experience in curriculum design and academic management including creating syllabi, aligning outcomes with industry standards, and aiding accreditation and quality assurance processes.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal capabilities essential for working effectively in diverse academic and industrial environments.
- Proven interest in integrating technology and sustainability into both teaching and research, with a dedication to fostering partnerships within plastics and allied industries.
- Previous university-level teaching or relevant industry experience is highly valued. Familiarity with outcome-based education and modern teaching methodologies is advantageous.
