Overview
The role involves contributing to a team dedicated to strategizing and implementing plans that facilitate the availability of radio spectrum resources for both government and non-governmental purposes. The focus is on maximizing socio-economic gains through efficient radiocommunication services and supporting national objectives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage and process applications for both temporary and permanent use of radio spectrum, ensuring all comply with national policies and regulatory frameworks.
- Conduct technical analyses related to spectrum sharing, assessing compatibility across a range of radiocommunication services and systems.
- Assist in cross-border frequency coordination by analyzing data, preparing technical documentation, and engaging with neighboring authorities to resolve interference issues and harmonize spectrum usage.
- Provide engineering support during the planning and rollout of new spectrum allocations and network deployments within Singapore.
- Prepare thorough technical reports, correspondence, and documentation relating to spectrum assignments, compatibility evaluations, and coordination activities.
Candidate Requirements
- Educational background in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, or a closely related field.
- Solid technical knowledge of radiocommunication fundamentals, spectrum management methodologies, and familiarity with ITU recommendations.
- Experience with radio frequency planning and spectrum engineering analysis software is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities complemented by clear communication skills for explaining technical matters to diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Previous work experience in spectrum management, radio frequency engineering, or regulatory environments is a plus, though not essential.
