Role Summary
The Assistant, International Strategy will deliver high-level administrative, operational, and project-related support to the Executive Vice President of International Strategy. This position aids in coordinating strategic initiatives aimed at promoting the NHL's expansion objectives on a global scale. It demands top-notch organizational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, sound decision-making, and managing multiple priorities within a dynamic global business setting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Organize the EVP's challenging calendar, managing meetings spanning various countries and time zones.
- Handle planning of both domestic and international travel, covering flights, lodging, visa arrangements, and itineraries.
- Draft meeting agendas, executive briefings, presentations, and corresponding communications.
- Monitor action points, follow-ups, and strategic goals following executive meetings.
- Assist in the organization and execution of international business initiatives, events, summits, and stakeholder engagements.
- Facilitate communication across departments such as Business Development, Marketing, Events, Communications, Legal, Finance, and Hockey Operations.
- Help prepare board materials, executive presentations, market analysis, and strategic planning documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Manage financial tasks including expense reports, invoice processing, budget oversight, and vendor management.
- Research international markets, partnership opportunities, growth potentials, and industry trends.
- Support project management by tracking timelines, deliverables, meeting schedules, and stakeholder communications.
- Act as a primary coordinator for international partner meetings, league events, and executive visits.
- Develop and nurture constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience providing executive administrative support, preferably for senior leadership.
- Proficient in coordinating international travel and scheduling across multiple time zones.
- Strong organizational capabilities and experience with project coordination.
- Skilled in preparing high-level presentations, reports, and executive communications.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Background in fast-paced corporate, sports, entertainment, media, or global business sectors.
- Preferred: fluency in German.
- Preferred experience supporting international business, strategic planning, business development, or global operations.
- Preferred understanding of sports, media, entertainment, or international event industries.
- Experience in managing cross-functional strategic initiatives is advantageous.
- Familiarity with international business customs and stakeholder engagement at a global level.
Education and Skills
- Bachelor's degree is preferred; equivalent education and experience blends will be considered.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite—Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Word.
- Exceptional skills in calendar and meeting management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with senior executives and external partners.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective project management and follow-through capabilities.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $85,000 annually. The final salary will reflect candidate qualifications, experience, market conditions, and location.
