About the Role

This position as Assistant Business Manager for La Prairie at Harrods in London involves collaborating directly with the Business Manager to lead and expand the brand's strong presence, including overseeing the Spa treatment room. Harrods represents 60% of the brand's UK & Ireland market, making this a key opportunity to influence brand growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set daily objectives for the team, adjusting priorities to optimize performance around key launches and promotions.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by engaging clients, understanding their skincare needs, and providing personalized consultations.
  • Introduce every customer to the full product range to enhance the luxury experience.
  • Plan and execute external brand events to boost visibility and sales.
  • Maintain precise customer data in the electronic point of sale (EPOS) system.
  • Oversee Spa operations and client services ensuring high standards and coordinating retail and spa activities.
  • Collaborate on weekly sales target planning with the Business Manager and provide performance insights.
  • Organize tailored in-store events and stay aware of competitor activities.
  • Handle administrative tasks, including accurate paperwork and stock management, ensuring availability and quality of testers and inventory control.
  • Manage team attendance to guarantee appropriate counter staffing.
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy in sales reporting, including use of IPPOS and clienteling tools.
  • Serve as main contact for spa bookings, working with the PR manager, Harrods concierge, and training the call center team to maximize spa appointments and retail sales.
  • Lead and motivate a multi-disciplinary team of Beauty Consultants, Makeup Artists, Spa Consultants, and stock controllers, fostering top performance and client service excellence.
  • Partner with education managers to analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), identify training needs, and improve sell-through results.
  • Implement in-store marketing and merchandising plans following brand guidelines, ensuring a polished luxury presentation and optimal retail impact.
  • Maintain communication channels by staying informed on business initiatives, training manuals, merchandising guidelines, and providing regular feedback to team members and management.
  • Build positive relationships with store colleagues and explore local opportunities for events, additional retail spaces, and personal shopping experiences to elevate brand awareness and sales.

Reporting Structure

This role reports to the Harrods Business Manager; in their absence, reporting is to the Head of Retail.
